Temporarily free on Kindle. US-bent, definitely, in contrast to Church's Inspector O noir mysteries, which hold more of a Korean cultural feel. I'm residually surprised by the attention being paid North Korea in contemporary fiction; sadly, the current antipathy to mainland China probably "helps" a lot. There are some errors of fact and language, surprising given that a quick web search or Wikipedia would have circumvented them, and the narrative's macho bluster and "we're all Christians here" feel are underwhelming. Above all, however, the flimsy plot points led me to jump ship and resort to skimming from the 25% mark.
